About Terry Apala

Terry Alexander Ejeh popularly known as Terry Apala a.k.a “Son of the Microphone” is a Nigerian musician, instrumentalist and songwriter who was born in 1986, in Nigeria. He began his music career at a very tender age as a drummer in a church choir and today he is a voice to reckon with in the Nigeria entertainment industry.
The Isoko born Terry Apala describes his genre of music as “Apala Hip Hop” which particularly makes him an outstanding brand, having derived his music inspiration from the late Haruna Ishola and backed up by his Yoruba early childhood influence he was able to bring the best out of Apala music.
His launch to stardom started with a remarkable performance with his former R&B group; Mezo Soprano where he was the lead vocalist and earned them the first prize during the unveiling of the Kanu Heart Foundation in 2000. This opportunity propelled his growth in the industry and positioned him and his group to perform alongside the music maestro, Orlando Julius. It has been a success story since then.
Terry Apala has consistently wowed his fans with his throaty Apala vocals and afro hip pop beats that sail far from what this style of music usually was, yet coming together as a whole to bear a mark of untapped original sound of music.
Terry Apala has worked with Annie Macaulay-Idibia, to compose a soundtrack for her movie, “Calabar Girls”. Due to his uniqueness in style, he has been able to put out a collaborative feat with a number of Nigeria’s artistes such as Ice Prince, Olamide, Phyno, Orezi, Fuse, Sugar Boy and Sexy Steel.
Terry Apala is currently managed by Merit Records and Entertainment, an entertainment outfit owned by a group of African music lovers.
